The novel Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury explores the theme of identity through the selfdiscovery of its main protagonist, Guy Montag. Bradbury makes clear use of similes and personification to create a lyrical and descriptive style which emphasises the impact of this journey that Montag undertakes. His perception of his own world keeps changing and adapting as he meets new and impactful characters.
