Essay answering QUESTION 1 In recent years the Administrative Appeals Tribunal has developed a large backlog of cases and in its most recent annual report it refers to the need to respond to increasing demands on its services. One possible legislative option would be to speed up the merits appeal process by extending key features of the “fast-track review process” in Part 7AA of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) to other AAT reviews.
