This exercise assesses the practical application and conceptual understanding of bioinformatic tools in the context of a real biological problem. The practical tasks build on knowledge developed during the core computer practical exercises. Students will complete a series of bioinformatic analyses on a gene they select, and their comprehension and understanding of the task will be assessed by an online quiz. Students will be given 5 open book questions at the beginning of the practical series which they need to answer by the end of the core practical series. The answers will be submitted via the Blackboard portal. This assessment is supported by short online quizzes that are intended to be completed during the practical session.
