What is of particular interest is that with this influence, the industry is controlled by only a few large conglomerates. This essay will show the importance and effect of regulatory structures and policies to prevent the newspaper industry from being monopolised and the effects of monopolisation on politics and economics. The essay explored the major companies that make up the industry and then focused on the negative impacts of technology and proposed an overhaul strategy to make newspapers be able to compete with the changes in technology
