This notion of justice will be explored and how its presence affects political states. Justice is to give every man his due, love serving god only and therefore ruling rightly meaning to treat fairly and to love and obey god. Augustine’s justice is heavily influenced by Christian philosophy however his idea of justice raises the issue that Christian morality results in a weak political state. A state that exercises universal benevolence and mercy will not survive as our instinct to exert power over others before they can exert power over us is dominant.
