Civil Engineering refers to the design and management of complex infrastructures of cities, bridges, roads as well as structural elements of buildings. A great Civil Engineering marvel is Burj Khalifa which was previously known as Burj Dubai before its inauguration in January of 2010 in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The phenomenal structure is a mega-tall skyscraper with a total height of 829.8m, making it the tallest man-made Tower in the world. Construction of Burj Khalifa began in January of 2004 and progressed to redefine what is possible in the world of design and engineering of buildings by 2009, with the completion of the Tower’s exterior.[1] The tall structure was designed by Adrian Smith, Owings, Skidmore, and Merrill and was built and funded by Dubai government officials. The design of which was derived from the Islamic architecture of the locality.
