Males and females have different evolutionary interests resulting in sexual conflict over optimal life histories. Sexual conflict is the battle that exists as a result of the divergent evolutionary interests of males and females. This paper attempts to illustrate how data on the patterns of selection can increase our understanding of the evolutionary processes responsible for the evolution of animal genitalia. The experiment performs uses static allometry to show how size of a structure such as petasma in comparison to body size is affected by selective pressures. Experiment was performed at Macquarie University Biology laboratory using Penaeus monodon tiger prawns, obtained from commercial fisheries. During the experiment dissecting kit, dissecting microscope, statistic program, excel were used to obtain a result. Results obtain shows that genital evolution is caused by lock and key hypothesis, even that previous studies suggest that the major driving force for genital evolution is sexual selection. In comparing the test result with previous research, there was a major difference in sexual selection by cryptic female choice might be responsible for genial evolution. Previous researches have concluded that lock and key hypothesis can lead to evolution of genitalia.
