The prevalence of smart phones as a staple personal item not only allows for the sharing of our personal lives, but also the continuous and normalised feedback from our connections. This study sets out to investigate the effects social media may have on perceived life satisfaction and happiness. User feedback, on most social networking sites, presents itself in the form of ‘liking’, commenting and sharing. Whilst social media is typically set up to endorse positive feedback, the commenting system remains as a means for voicing disapproval.
