Internet of things usually designated by the acronym IoT refers the connection of infrastructure to the internet and each other. According to Godha, Prateek and Kataria (2014) the technology has enabled automation of things making the dream of automated house real. Currently, the different things used in homes are connected to each other and the internet such as television, smartphones, computer, thermostats, windows, lights to mention but a few. The control of these items is through a simple press of a button or voice command as they are in constant communication and control is done remotely. The focus of the paper will be to depict the internet of things at home and how they are connected to each as well as the challenges facing them.
