This is a summative essay for the module "Humanities in the Workplace" and looks at the role of technology in the workplace today. Marks received: 76. Feedback: This excellent essay discussed the question of developments in technology and the challenge of how they shape the workplace, and wider society, both positively and negatively. Its well-thought-through structure, tackling the complexity and inherent paradox with thoughtful sophistication, gave you space to both identify and return to ideas to deepen and consolidate your discussion. Overall the essay was very well written and clear in its aims and arguments, and it made a strong and logical argument based on some good secondary sources. Obviously, in such a short essay, there is insufficient space to investigate all aspects of the question, but you did an excellent job of explaining its key points and why they were relevant to the main argument it wished to present, while also demonstrating an awareness of other areas that could have been discussed in a longer piece. Going forward, while keeping your punchy prose, be cautious of setting out your opening position too firmly. It's a more challenging task to get out of a corner built from absolutes than to problematise an idea incrementally. Problematisation is more effective at bringing your reader around to your view of the world. There were no real drawbacks to the essay, which was presented in an admirably concise way and made its point persuasively. Well done!
