Regeneration strategies attempt to develop an area to allow for an increased economics, social or environmental gain. Regeneration often involves a series of players and stakeholders in order to ensure that all areas of interest and development are taken account for. Regeneration often is done to reduce deprivation in areas. However the large amounts of people involved in regeneration projects often leads to some projects being unsuccessful in the reduction of deprivation. Economic regeneration often does not always have the local people, who may be in deprived areas, in mind and mainly includes providing funding for public transport and infrastructure, attractive private investment and encouraging regeneration building projects. Stratford located in east London was once known s one of the most deprived areas in London. The borough Stratford is situated in was once the 2nd most deprived area in England to the 25th in the last 15 years. However reduced deprivation for others often comes at an increase of inequality for others in local areas.
