This report was submitted for both AS 3.1 and 3.4 and received an 'excellence' grade. For AS 3.1, I carried out a practical experiment in which I investigated the effect of intensity of exercise on blood pressure. The discussion of this report is particularly strong and links biological ideas of homeostatic mechanisms regulating blood pressure to the data obtained in this investigation. For AS 3.4, I have written a report investigating the role of the homeostatic systems that regulate blood pressure in humans and the significance of maintaining constant blood pressure. This part of the report was commended for successfully linking biological ideas such as adaptive advantage adaptive natural selection to the homeostatic systems that regulate blood pressure present in humans today.
