Osmosis Practical & Effects on Unicellular Organisms
Biology
13 Pages • Essays / Projects • Year: Pre-2021
The aim of this Practical is to investigate the impact of temperature on the process of osmosis whilst keeping the amount of concentration solute within a solution consistent at 15%. As the temperature of the solution increases so will the rate of osmosis. The rate will be faster due to the increased water molecules kinetic energy, causing a faster movement towards the region with higher solute. In high concentrations of salinity such as sea water, salt activates the process of osmosis by drawing water and forcing it to move across the cell membrane.
