Experiment of equilateral-triangle diagram was carried out to obtain the binodal/solubility curve for both water and toluene rich phases. Besides, the result obtained in this experiment could be used to determine the tie lines connecting the binodal curves which is obtained earlier in this experiment. The three main reagents that was used throughout this experiment were toluene, water and acetone. In the first experiment, titration was done until there is a presence of ‘cloudiness’ in the mixture. Meanwhile, in the second experiment the mixture was agitated for 90 minutes in the agitator then separating funnels were used to separate the light phase from the heavy phase of the heterogeneous mixture of the toluene, water and acetone.
