Mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.)] is the most essential grain legume crop due to its 25 to 28% of high and easily digestible protein content. In South and South-East Asia, Australia and South America, mungbean has been grown widely in different ecological niches. Among the mungbean cultivated countries, India is the largest producer with 1.60 million tonnes of mungbean production (Project Coordinators Report, 2015). However, yellow mosaic disease (YMD) is the main limitation in realizing the high productivity of mungbean production globally. In India, the productivity of mungbean is low with 474 kg/ha (Alam et al., 2014).
