Bacteria growing in a closed environment shows a specific growth pattern known as the growth curve which consists of four phases. The delayed, sluggish growth period, exponential phase, maximum growth period and stationary phase. Besides that, nutrients become the limiting factors making the rate of growth equal to the rate of death and death phase in which organisms die faster than replaced. In addition, to determine how quickly a microorganism is growing, the temperature and pH at which it stops rowing are crucial to know if bactericidal or antibiotic levels are present. The evaluation of a growth curve provides a view on the period of production and the average rate of growth constant that helps to determine the lowest, maximum and optimal microbe growth temperature.
