The Effect Of FDI On Poverty Eradication: The Role Of Financial Development
Foreign direct investment (FDI) can be defined as a company takes control of ownership in a business entity in another country. FDI will affect poverty directly or indirectly. Therefore, this paper provides a detailed survey of the literature on the effect of foreign direct investment (FDI) on poverty eradication and the role of financial development on poverty eradication in developing and developed country. Data collected by others researcher which is secondary data and inferential statistics that allowing to make inference from that data are using in this research. This study involves 99 country which is 19 developed country and 80 developing country. There were 6 independent variables which are GDP per capita, total of population, FDI inflows, domestic credit to private sector as a GDP percentage, gross domestic savings to GDP and broad money to GDP. The obtained results show that financial development is playing the important role on attracting FDI and caused poverty eradication. The hope of this research is providing insights to policymakers in developed and developing countries on how to benefit from the financial development in order to eradicate poverty via FDI.
