FIA business of tourism, recreation and events individual assignment
EVT30205 - Business of Tourism, Recreation and Events
5 Pages • Essays / Projects • Year Uploaded: 2021
Question : Tourism is a phenomenon that has gradually evolved with time. This also means that the way we travel and how we consume travel have also changed with time. I want you to travel back (through research) two generations in to the past and write reflectively on how travelling was conducted then and how you engage in tourism today. • To do this activity I encourage you to engage with your family, your parents being accounted for as one generation and your grandparents another. Engage with them to understand what travelling meant for them, why they did it, how many times, for what purpose, what did they do, with whom did they like to travel, what did they like to explore, what were the constraints, etc. • The second part of the assignment is based on your own reflections. Reflect on the above questions with regards to yourself. What similarities and differences do you see? How has travel changed along these generations in your perspective? • The third and last part of the assignment involves pondering on the question, ‘What do you suppose the future of travel would be like?’ How would the next generation of traveler’s undertake tourism? The essay should be no more than 2000 words in total. Please follow the guidelines as below in preparing the essay.
