The aim of this experiment is to get familiarized with instruments, mechanical and electrical devices and machinery such as the compressor, heat exchanger, electric motor and whole system and improve skills of measurement, computation, and analysis for design of thermal systems. The secondary aim is to use mathematical models and equations to learn how to analyse data taken from the different components and in doing so, enhance our understanding of the first and second laws of thermodynamics and their applications to steady-state steady-flow processes and power cycles.
