Organisational psychologists focus on the behaviour of employees in a workplace and apply psychological principles and research methods to improve the overall aspects of the work environment. Using their acquired knowledge of human behaviour and psychology, they work to improve overall morale change management, employee satisfaction surveys, occupational health and safety programs, and develop policies for employee engagement and work-home balance. (APS, 2023) As a manager, one of your occupations is to focus on workplace satisfaction, developing workers to enhance work fulfilment. Using their acquired knowledge an organisational psychologist would be able to assist the situation at Bella’s by implementing various strategies for the management. An OP would assist by analysing employee data, recognizing performance areas that are at a lower rate than others and evaluating management techniques. They could implement solutions to increase productivity, well-being and satisfaction of employees, whilst improving sales and productivity statistics for the business. (APS, 2023) An OP would create a plan to ensure long-term consistency for the business meaning the managers and business owners would also benefit by hiring an OP, as they will feel a stronger sense of direction and be more successful.
