As pianos have been the subject of many experimental and theoretical investigations (Suzuki and Nakamura, 1990) , as pianos are epitomic subjects. It is known that the una corda pedal operates a mechanism that displaces the hammers’ resting position closer to the strings. Hence reducing the distance, and in turn speed, of which the hammers must travel to strike the strings to elicit sound, this results in reduced volume, as less the force applied has less time to effect.
