In Russia during the years of 1929 – 1941, Joseph Stalin reshaped the structure of society throughout the Soviet State politically, culturally, economically and socially. By the modernisation of industries, changes in society due to industrialisation and collectivisation, the rise of dictatorship throughout the state and party, creating purges and show trials, impact on education and women through policies made by Stalin as well as the development of social realism and the cult of Stalin. Stalin developed Russia from a majority agricultural state into a modern industrialised power.
