he focus of Research: - Question or Hypothesis • The focus of the question is to define it and the format in which it will be written. • The research focus can take the form of a research question or statement, or a hypothesis. Hypothesis: • In contrast to a research question, a hypothesis predicts the relationship among or between at least two variables in a given population exists. • Is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon or question based in previous knowledge. It is usually a positive statement about what the researcher wants to find out. • It is a statement that is usually proven or disproven ⇒ Example: Using entertainment technologies everyday can have a negative impact on the social wellbeing of young children. Research Question: • Includes a problem which presents the idea, issue or situation the researcher intends, which has the intention of being solved. • Research questions may be conceptualised as a statement or a question. Example: Will using entertainment technologies impact the social wellbeing of young children?
