4 Pages Essays / Projects Year: Pre-2018

Othello, written by William Shakespeare in the early 1600’s, tells a tragic tale of jealousy, revenge, deception, manipulation and above all, the ever withstanding battle between good an evil. Shakespeare provokes a thought towards the integrity of human nature and raises a dramatic comparison between human sensibility and the eruption of monstrous animal instincts. It is amusing, though disturbing, how detached society remains from basic philanthropic deeds in the urge to achieve personal ambition and satisfying vindictive and vengeful emotions towards a fellow man. Also, it is depressing to be made aware that the unnecessary divisions still existent within modern society based on race and caste, have been carried down from centuries.
