Core 1:The purpose of research: to advance knowledge, increase understanding, educate others and inform practice (AD IN) The focus of research: Hypothesis is a question, statement or prediction that one proposes to tests throughout research whereas a research question asks whether a relationship exists between two variables in a particular population. Core 2:Prevalence People with disabilities: According to ABS in 2009 there were 4 million people with a disability. 6.6% of 15-24 years olds have a disability compared to 40% of 65-69 year olds. Homeless people: Accurate statistics are difficult to record because of the transient nature of homeless people. The 2011 Census (ABS) indicated that approximately 105, 000 were homeless across Australia (an increase by 8% since the 2006 census). Over 60% of homeless people were under the age of 35. Between 60 and 70& of homeless people had been homeless for 6 month or more. There was a higher number of homeless people in males (56%), however females who were homeless reported a higher number of domestic or family violence.
