At OSATA we encourage others to make a lasting impact on their lives and on the lives of the people around them through a series of challenges aimed at helping their community and promoting sustainability within their neighbourhood. As a staggering 1 in 4 Australians do not talk to their neighbours, we aim to raise that number to reduce social isolation and improve involvement within the community (Saurine, 2019). In order to achieve this, OSATA has made challenges to motivate people to engage in activities such as meet as many neighbours as they can, have a street barbecue, and other community-focused activities.
