Reaction Kinetics : Effect of Concentration on the Rate of Reaction of Sodium Thiosulphate with Hydrochloric Acid
FHSC1134 - Inorganic Chemistry
14 Pages • Essays / Projects • Year Uploaded: 2022
When the concentration of hydrochloric acid increase, the number of particle per unit volume also increase and the particle are closer together. When the number of particles per unit volume increase, the frequency of collision also increase. As a result, the frequency of effective collisions increases. This causes the rate of reaction to increase. What is Chemical Kinetics? For any chemical reaction, its feasibility and extent of reaction are very important. The feasibility of a reaction can be predicted by thermodynamics and the extent can be determined from chemical equilibrium. Like feasibility and extent, it is important to know the rate and the factors affecting the rate of a chemical reaction. The branch of chemistry that deals with the study of reaction rate and its mechanism is called Chemical Kinetics.
