Epidermis of the leaf structure is made up of multiple layers of cells. By viewing the leaf under the microscope, it will show many different types of cells such as epidermal cell and mesophyll cell that have various functions in the plant. Certainly, stomata can also be observed under the microscope by using an epidermal peel specimen. In this experiment to observe the stomata in the epidermal cell of the plant, we had used Commelina communis as our target plant to obtain the epidermal peel from it. This is caused by its leaf characteristic which possibly allowed us to remove the relative lower epidermis of the leaf easier.
