This booklet is used to outline the importance of community health and the participation given by the community to create positive change and influence positive attitudes. The booklet can be recommended to be used or implemented by government officials, councils, state representatives, community development officers and any other individual that sees they could benefit from this booklet. The booklet recognizes that a community is “a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common”, which can be seen through the case study mentioned. The case study that will be explored is the ‘Nepal Earthquake of 2015’, which has seen to increase the participation of the community and encourage a more involved collective group of individuals. Not only did the case study focus on the participation of the Nepalese community, but it also showcases the consultation of the community and the empowerment of the community. Whilst addressing such issues the booklet will also showcase the benefits that are evident within individuals and the community as a whole, by summarizing the community development principles that have been involved.
