In Four Corner’s 26th of July 2016, special report, “Australia’s Shame”, a variety of visual, interviews and persuasive techniques are used to highlight the harsh mistreatment of Australian indigenous children in a juvenile detention centre, which has impacted my views as an audience member. Four Corners has used visuals to evoke audience emotions and present the issues of violence and unlawfulness; however, Four corners have used emotive language and statistics to show systematic racism. Four corners made the choices to present the interviewees and settings in a way that audience sympathise with indigenous people and hate the savage. Ultimately, the choices of language, visual, setting and interviewees have influenced the proficiency of communicating with me as an audience member. Four Corners
