Requirements are the stated life cycle customer needs and objectives, relate to how well the system will work in its intended environment  ‘Systems engineering process’ – Requirements are primary focus in this proves, transforming requirements into designs. Develop these designs within the given constraints. The design must then be validated that it meets both requirements and the constraints.  Stakeholder requirements analysis purpose is to refine the customers objectives, define initial performance objectives and refine them into requirements, identify constraints that limit solutions, and define functional and performance requirements based on customer produced measures of effectiveness. It should result in a clear understanding of the function, performance, interface of the system.  Requirements define what stakeholders need. It sets out what the system must do in order to satisfy these needs.  Common problems include incorrect or poorly specified requirements (create problems during system integration, testing and manufacturing), requirements not properly validated by stakeholders therefore the end product is not acceptable for most stakeholders, even if it is verified by the testing department. o Derived Requirements: Requirements that are implied or transformed from higher-level requirement. For example, a requirement for long range or high speed may result in a design requirement for low weight.
