The notion of peace is associated with numerous concepts; is intricate and has many aspects. A literal definition advocates that peace essentially suggests that it is the absenteeism of brutality, dissension and warfare (Rummel); however, a more comprehensive outlook is necessary to completely value the complexity of this topic. It encompasses numerous other elements, including healthy relationships, financial and social stability, solidarity in recognising individuality, and a shrouded existence of equity within society. Ralph Waldo Emerson once commented on peace, "Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding." (Sarkis, 2011) The notion of peace can be arranged into two components – inner peace and world peace. It is evident that Islamic sacred texts strongly inform adherents on peace, allowing them to understand the complexity of peace; and references in sacred texts assist Muslims to contribute to the pursuit for world peace by applying Islamic teachings. Inner peace alludes to the lack of worry and tension and the existence of reflection, resilience and a spiritual engagement (Islam-guide). It is a time of tranquility and comfort that people encounter. World peace is the abstraction of friendship, joy, independence and equality throughout the World. It incorporates a global feeling of partnership and involvement. Peace is a chief focal point in many orthodoxies, including the Abrahamic faith of Islam.
