The protection of private property interests through larceny offences is an inappropriate use of the criminal law. Private property interests should instead be protected through mechanisms outside the criminal law. Discuss with reference to the common law offence of simple larceny AND the aggravated larceny offences under Pt 4 Div 2 of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW). Support your arguments by reference to the prescribed readings and other relevant primary and secondary materials.
