How would you compare Singapore and Lebanon’s corruption perception index? What might be driving these differences? What issues could this create? Singapore and Lebanon belong on opposite spectrums of the corruption perception index (CPI). Singapore has a clean record with a global ranking of 7 and a score of 84 while Lebanon is considered corrupt, with a global ranking of 136 and a score of 27 (Transparency International, 2014). However, both countries dropped in ranking from the previous year with Singapore in 5th place and Lebanon in 127th place in 2013. Therefore, an increased propensity for corruption can be seen in both countries through the CPI.
