BSB 115-Management Brief-Covers the state of volunteering in Australia

User Description:
Introduction The purpose of this brief is to recognize and analyze the issue that the Green Frog Sanctuary and Nursery (GFSN) is facing. The purpose of GFSN as a not-for-profit organization (NPO) is to ‘further a particular social cause with a purpose other than making a profit’ Summary of Issue The main issue facing Green Frogs is that the business structure of NPOs are not conducive to employing new people to fulfil a succession plan and furthermore, the structure of NPOs make implementing solutions difficult. An ageing workforce is problematic for this NPO, because the work force is largely composed of volunteers. The nature of the business means that it has less control over how it attracts employees compared to traditional businesses, because the employment opportunities for NPOs are mainly non-paid positions.
