How Does Belief System Affect The Society?
Studies of Religion II
5 Pages • Essays / Projects • Year Uploaded: 2021
Introduction We already know that societies are made of humans and humans itself are influenced by many things or ideas. Some of these ideas could have positive effect into their life, others could have negative consequences. One of the main themes that affect people behavior is the belief system. This interacting or interdependent group of items should be religious, political, scientific or personal based, but what is important to know is that, these interactions influence how do we live our lives, how do we treat our similar and how we rely with the others. Before considering the impact of believing system on society from individual, local and global perspective, it’s important for the reader to understand what beliefs are from different points of view. When scientists talk about beliefs, they mean a truth assumed by evidence, while when other academics talk about beliefs they mean ideas or philosophies of life. According to these assumptions, they align their value system to their activities in order to conduct a regular life. For that reason, people who believe in God are supposed to meet each other in Churches, Seminaries and Mosques; people who are attracted by scientific discoveries are organized in congress meetings, scientific projects, academic environment; instead, individualists will prefer meditation. Studies made by Alicante university also underline that Psychologists, political scientists and anthropologists tend to use the term rather in different senses. Ortega and Gasset, for instance, say that we live, we move and we are in beliefs, because beliefs constitute the base of our life and the land on we live. Considering the fact that belief itself is a system and systems are made of signs or structured norms, we deduce that the sense of our reality is connected and reliable to the subject we are looking or studying on and this sense is supported or strengthened by political viewpoints, theology, culture, judge values, theories etc
