Buddhism first originated 2,500 years ago during the life of Buddha (either the fifth or sixth century BCE), which proves how dynamic the religion must be in order to have acquired over 488 million practising Buddhists worldwide. All of which have the same mindset, and contribute to the dynamic, living religion, which is Buddhism. Buddhism is a traditional religion that focuses on personal spiritual development. Buddhists strive for a deep insight into the true nature of life and do not worship Gods or Deities. Buddhism can be divided into two branches: Theravada and Mahayna- Buddhism has a vast number of basic features that are recognisable throughout its history and across its geographical spread.
