Part 1: Research Essay: 20% “Great figures in history are only remembered for their positive impact on the world” To what extent is this statement accurate in relation to the personality you have studied? (25 marks) In your response, you must refer to TWO Primary Sources and ONE Historian. A typed response of Arial 12 font and your word count is to be between 1700-2000 words. Part 2: Progress Diary - Required to show progress each week - 5% You will be given 5 weeks to work on this task and only this task for Modern History. Therefore, to show regular effort, you will need to write 1 diary entry per week summarising what you have done during that week (250 words each). These are to be written in the table at the bottom of this document. Write about the research, draft work and planning you do and difficulties you face so that you can show progress. Your diary entries NEED to be completed BEFORE 3.30 pm Friday of each week. Week 1 - due 1st May Week 2 - due 8th May Week 3 - due 15th May Week 4 - due 22nd May Part 3: Source Evaluation & Bibliography – 5% Instructions: Part a) Source Evaluation -3% An evaluation of the source’s value is to be provided. You are to comment on the value of one of your sources to a historian studying your personality. In your response you are to consider the source’s Type, Origin, Motive, Audience, Content, Context and limits. The source must be included and each of your annotations must not exceed 200-250 words. Part b) Bibliography -2% A correctly formatted Bibliography is to be included. Ensure it is in Harvard style citation and alphabetically ordered. Your bibliography needs to include the work of at least the current day location of your two chosen Primary sources.
