Although there are elements of the Elizabethan context, many of the ideas explored have universal appeal, allowing Hamlet to remain timeless. The themes of the nature of humanity, falsity and revenge are prominent subjects of the play that drive the motives of all the characters, especially with an addition of religious concerns surrounding existentialism.
