Revenge Procrastination Humanity Existentialism In the decaying world where revenge is an emotion that has consumed many, it has been rationalised that fairness is determined by one turn deserves another. William Shakespeare’s Hamlet is a revenge-tragedy play presented in the perspective of the protagonist; Prince Hamlet who presents himself to the audience as a procrastinator through his hesitance towards the pursuit of revenge, elucidating the deconstruction of identity where the protagonist’s delay is a response to his moral conflict around revenge, causing him to question many aspects of life surrounded by the conventions of “revenge”. Thus Shakespeare illuminates the responder to the destructive effects of revenge through the deterioration of emotional and psychological obstacles.
