We live in a global economy where the economies of individual countries are linked to each other and a change in a single economy has an effect on other economies (contagion). -with globalisation countries began connecting -When conditions in the global economy change the changes have an impact on far-flung countries immediately. This can be due to the fact that, what countries buy and sell is greater than half of the countries economic output (they have become reliant on other countries instead). Example: the great depression of the 1930’s had a global impact making many countries experience a downturn. The GFC in 2008 also shows links between economies.
