Economic growth is defined as an increase in a country’s productive capacity, measured by the per annum increase in the rate of real GDP. Alternatively, full employment or the non-accelerating rate of unemployment is the level of employment where there is no cyclical unemployment Macroeconomic policies include both fiscal policy and monetary policy and are often referred to as “countercyclical,” designed to smooth out the peaks and troughs of economic activity. In using these policies, the Federal Government, in conjunction with the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has effectively achieved its long-term objectives of economic growth and full employment....
