Qantas is widely recognised as the world's leading long-distance airline and one of the strongest brands in Australia, being registered as the Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited (QANTAS) by Paul McGinness and Hudson Fysh. Further, providing outstanding services to its customers is a priority for Qantas as it has constructed a reputation of excellence in safety, operational reliability, engineering and maintenance, and customer service that it is willing to attain through the transportation of customers using two complementary airline brands; Qantas and Jetstar. It is clear to see that the success is ongoing as Qantas and its regional subsidiaries carry more than 30 million passengers a year and is rapidly expanding, operating an average of 565 flights a day to 60 destinations in all states and mainland territories and employing over 30,000 workers (acc.gov.au, 2019). Ultimately, the following report will explain influences within Qantas airline, as well as explain the Corporate Social Responsibility approaches and analyse operation strategies implemented in Qantas’ operations management to achieve a competitive edge and to lead Qantas at the forefront of the international civil aviation industry.
