The aim of this task is for you to demonstrate your ability to analyse financial reports for a public company using the ratios and financial management strategies you have learnt in class. Task: 1. You need to choose a public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange 2. Locate and copy the last 3 Financial Year’s Balance Sheets and Revenue Statements (from Annual Company Reports or the company’s website) 3. Calculate for each year: • Liquidity: Current ratio • Solvency: Debt to equity ratio • Profitability: Net profit ratio and Return on owner’s equity • Efficiency: Expense ratio/s and Accounts receivable ratio (if possible) 4. Investigate industry norms or a close competitor’s financial situation using the same ratios. 5. From the above draw conclusions about: • The financial health of the company (use questions 3 and 4 listed above) • Any medium to long term trends revealed by the figures (positive or negative) 7. Write your report. This should be approximately three typed A4 pages in length (font 12). It needs to contain the following:
