You have been asked to prepare the responses to the questions related to capital investment, Casemix and Activity Based Funding. Each response to the questions needs to cover the basic principles and theory of the topic and include a critical discussion about the impact on the healthcare environment. Each response must be supported by current scholarly literature. Questions Why are capital investments so important to healthcare organisations? Casemix is widely used but wouldnt it be easier to just count each patient as they enter the healthcare facility? What is a clinical costing system and why is it used in healthcare? Why has Activity Based Funding been introduced in healthcare and how is the national efficient price set? The HHS is considering building a number of capital investments and has a budget of $1 000 000 for equipment and new product development for the upcoming year and has identified the opportunities shown in the table below. Which projects should be accepted and why?
